I am painting Kawazu cherry blossoms on a quarter-sized, gold-flecked shikishi board known as a “Sunshōan.”

Kawazu cherry blossoms originated in Kawazu, on the eastern coast of the Izu Peninsula. Their rich pink color evokes the gentle atmosphere of early spring.

This work is presented in a simple frame and is available at a relatively affordable price.
